Effective Date: July 11, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Updraft Journal, including our website, application, subscription services, and related features. Updraft Journal is operated by Anchorwest Labs LLC.
By creating an account, accessing Updraft Journal, starting a trial, purchasing a subscription, or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Updraft Journal.
Updraft Journal is a web-based journaling and reflection application designed to support personal reflection, gratitude, guided journaling, calming resets, daily check-ins, and personal perspective. Features may include Morning, Day, and Night writing flows, guided breathing, Purpose Reflection, Guiding Thread, Calm Perspective, Archive, trends, and local history and pattern analysis. An active 14-day trial includes cloud saves, Archive, trends, and local history and pattern analysis. Premium retains that access. After the trial, Morning, Day, and Night writing remains available only as encrypted local drafts that expire 24 hours after their most recent update; expired free users do not receive new cloud journal saves, Archive browsing, trends, or history and pattern analysis. Purpose Reflection and Guiding Thread become read-only after the trial. An expired free user can export an available local draft before it expires and existing cloud-saved entries.
Updraft Journal is a personal reflection and wellness tool. It is not medical care, mental health treatment, therapy, crisis counseling, diagnosis, or professional advice. Information, prompts, reflections, breathing exercises, and other content provided through Updraft Journal are for general informational and personal reflection purposes only. You should not rely on Updraft Journal as a substitute for professional medical, mental health, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, mental health crisis, thoughts of self harm, or thoughts of harming others, call emergency services or contact a qualified crisis support resource immediately.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Updraft Journal. If you are under the age of majority in your location, you may use Updraft Journal only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using Updraft Journal, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.
You may need to create an account to use some or all features of Updraft Journal. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your account information up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, password, journal passphrase, and account access. The journal passphrase and its derived encryption key are not persisted, and Updraft Journal cannot recover a lost passphrase. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
You retain ownership of the journal entries, reflections, day logs, gratitude entries, notes, and other content you create in Updraft Journal. By using the service, you grant Anchorwest Labs LLC a limited license to store, process, display, transmit, and otherwise use your content only as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve Updraft Journal, comply with law, and enforce these Terms. During an active trial or with Premium, current journal content is encrypted in the browser before cloud storage. After the trial, new Morning, Day, and Night writing is stored only as an encrypted local draft on your device for up to 24 hours after its most recent update. You are responsible for the content you submit. You agree not to submit content that violates the law, infringes the rights of others, contains malicious code, or is intended to abuse, disrupt, or misuse the service.
Purpose Reflection, Guiding Thread, Calm Perspective, and history and pattern analysis are local, rules-based browser features. Their response selection can vary within those local rules. Journal prose is not sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, AWS Bedrock, or another external language-model provider for these features. These features are not professional advice, therapy, medical care, crisis support, or diagnosis.
Some features of Updraft Journal may require a paid subscription. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your selected payment method for recurring fees, applicable taxes, and any other charges disclosed at checkout. Subscription pricing, billing periods, features, and plan terms will be shown at checkout or in your account. Unless canceled, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You are responsible for keeping your payment information current. If a payment fails, we may retry the charge, suspend access, downgrade your account, or cancel your subscription.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless otherwise stated, you will continue to have access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. Cancellation does not automatically create a refund. Refunds are handled according to our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Refunds are governed by our Refund and Cancellation Policy. In general, you may request a refund within 7 days of a subscription charge. Refund requests made more than 7 days after the charge are not eligible, except where required by law or approved by us at our discretion.
You agree not to: Use Updraft Journal for unlawful purposes; Attempt to access another user’s account or content; Interfere with or disrupt the service; Upload malware, harmful code, or abusive content; Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or attack the service; Use automated systems to abuse the service; Misrepresent your identity or affiliation; Use the service to violate the rights of others; Attempt to bypass subscription limits, security controls, or access restrictions. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You may stop using Updraft Journal at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, fail to pay fees, misuse the service, or if we discontinue the service. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends. Certain sections of these Terms will continue to apply, including sections related to ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or Updraft Journal will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Kentucky, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide notice through the service or by email. Your continued use of Updraft Journal after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
