We collect information you provide directly, information created through your use of the service, and limited technical information needed to operate and improve Updraft Journal.
Account Information: We may collect information such as your name, email address, login method, account settings, subscription status, and other information needed to create and manage your account.
Journal and Reflection Content: Updraft Journal allows you to create journal entries, reflections, gratitude entries, day logs, notes, and related personal content. Your journal content may include thoughts, emotions, personal experiences, goals, stressful events, and other information you choose to enter. You are responsible for deciding what information you include in your journal. Your journal and reflection content is encrypted and designed to be viewable only by you.
Passphrase and Security Information: If Updraft Journal uses a passphrase or encryption feature, your passphrase helps protect your journal content. You are responsible for keeping your passphrase safe. If you forget your passphrase, we may not be able to recover encrypted journal content.
Payment and Subscription Information: Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider. We do not intentionally store your full credit card number on our own systems. We may receive limited payment related information, such as your subscription plan, payment status, billing email, transaction history, customer ID, last four digits of a payment method, card brand, billing address, and related records needed to manage your subscription.
Usage and Device Information: We may collect limited technical information such as browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, features used, error logs, IP address, approximate location based on IP address, session activity, and timestamps.
Support Communications: If you contact us for support, we may collect your email address, message content, attachments, and any other information you choose to provide.
Cookies and Similar Technologies: We may use cookies, local storage, session storage, or similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, improve security, understand usage, and operate the service.
We use information to: Provide, operate, and maintain Updraft Journal; Create and manage user accounts; Authenticate users; Save and display journal content; Provide journaling, reflection, gratitude, breathing, archive, and related features; Process subscriptions and payments; Send account, billing, security, and service related messages; Respond to support requests; Improve performance, reliability, design, and usability; Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security issues, and technical problems; Comply with legal obligations; Enforce our Terms of Service.
Updraft Journal may include optional AI assisted features, such as perspective, reflection, summaries, or writing support. If you choose to use an AI assisted feature, the information you submit to that feature may be processed by an AI service provider to generate a response. Do not submit information to AI features that you do not want processed for that purpose.
AI responses are for reflection and informational support only. They are not medical advice, mental health treatment, legal advice, financial advice, or professional counseling.
We do not sell your journal content. We may share limited information with trusted service providers who help us operate Updraft Journal, including providers for hosting, authentication, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, security, customer support, and AI assisted features. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to us, subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
We may also share information: With your consent; To process payments and manage subscriptions; To comply with law, legal process, or government requests; To protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Anchorwest Labs LLC, or others; To investigate fraud, abuse, or security issues; In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets, or business transfer.
Payment information is processed by Stripe or another payment processor. Your payment provider may collect and process payment information according to its own privacy policy and legal obligations. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of the payment provider used at checkout.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for using a strong password, protecting your login credentials, protecting your passphrase if one is used, and keeping your account information up to date.
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Updraft Journal, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain business records. Journal content may remain in your account until you delete it or request account deletion, subject to technical limitations, backup retention, legal obligations, and legitimate business needs.
You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at: support@anchorwestlabs.com. When your account is deleted, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de identify your personal information and journal content, unless we need to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, billing, tax, accounting, dispute resolution, or backup purposes.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or other control over certain personal information. To make a privacy request, contact us at: support@anchorwestlabs.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
We may send you service related messages, such as account, billing, security, and subscription notices. If we send marketing emails, you may unsubscribe using the link in the email or by contacting us. You may still receive important service related messages.
Updraft Journal is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. If you are between 13 and 17, you should use Updraft Journal only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Updraft Journal may contain links to third party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or policies of third parties.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide notice through the service or by email. Your continued use of Updraft Journal after changes become effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
